Precious Cargo is a program of The Care Navigator that addresses life's transitions. None of us would expect there would be so many things to consider when our age advances and the consideration of downsizing or moving to a retirement community arises due to health issues or the desire to simplify our lives.
Sometimes children notice changes and the need before parents, however they don't approach the subject in a manner that's well received by the parent, disagreement and digging in the heels occurs . Other times the parent or single older adult realizes the need and is ready to move but feels overwhelmed by all of the details involved becoming immobilized by the task at hand. And in other situations, the parent simply refuses to move saying that the only way I'll go out of the house is feet first; yet there are safety and health risks.
No matter which situation you find yourself in, the transition experts from Precious Cargo can help. We look at the entire situation -- or only the parts you need. Our goal is to navigate a positive transition providing you with one point of contact to coordinate and oversee the transition by simplifying the process, lowering the stress of the situation and providing education and support.

Your Life - Pamela D. Wilson and the staff of The Care Navigator provide assistance in locating the right community for you or your loved one. We look at the total picture of lifestyle, health and preferences to help you make the right decision. We're not a referral agency, meaning that we don't receive monies from the communities or services we recommend or coordinate. We work for you. We're also able to coordinate medical information, medical appointments and oversight for individuals who move to care communities but have family at a distance.
